WHO WE ARE
Adelitics is an independent water-technology company advancing preventative asset management through advanced acoustic analytics.
We help utilities and their partners to identify emerging failure risk early, enabling precision maintenance, extended asset life and reduced disruption.
Our work is grounded in real operational environments and designed to perform across complex, ageing, and hard-to-replace networks.
Our origin story
Adelitics emerged from a long-term collaboration between SA Water and the University of Adelaide (now Adelaide University) between 2016 and 2021.

SA Water had deployed large-scale IoT acoustic monitoring across Adelaide. However, the analytical capability required to interpret that data for early leak detection and pipe break prevention was not commercially available.

Working in partnership, the team developed new approaches to analysing acoustic monitoring data, including methods that enabled leak identification and prioritisation from both single sensors and correlated sensor pairs.

The collaboration demonstrated that emerging failures could be identified earlier — supporting proactive repair, reducing disruption, and improving operational efficiency.

From research to independent deployment
Adelitics was established to take those analytics beyond a single utility environment and into broader operational deployment.

The company maintains a strong research partnership with Adelaide University and continues to publish peer-reviewed work, while operating independently as a commercial entity focused on scalable, real-world implementation.
Based in Adelaide, Australia, Adelitics operates internationally and is currently deployed in water networks across four continents.

Field verification
Creating domain-specific AI
Adelitics develops its own domain-specific AI models for water network analysis. The company has been creating and refining machine learning approaches for acoustic monitoring for more than a decade, well before “AI” became a mainstream marketing term.

These models are purpose-built for the realities of water infrastructure: noisy environments, variable materials, and distributed monitoring.
Today
The Adelitics platform integrates acoustic analytics, fibre-based sensing interpretation and advanced machine learning models validated through field deployment and peer-reviewed research.
Our focus remains consistent: turning monitoring data into preventative, operational intelligence.
