Owner: Jodie Bricout, Chief Strategy and Commercial Officer
1. Purpose and Commitment
Adelitics Pty Ltd (ACN 665 405 569) is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, contractors and visitors. The health, safety and wellbeing of our people is not a compliance obligation: it is a genuine priority.
Our goal is zero harm. We will meet and, where practical, exceed our obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA) and associated regulations.
2. Legal Framework
The WHS Act imposes a primary duty of care on Adelitics as a Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU) to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety of workers and others affected by our work.
For employees working at SA Water sites, SA Water also carries PCBU obligations as the host site operator. Both Adelitics and SA Water have WHS duties that operate concurrently. This does not reduce Adelitics' obligations as employer.

7.1 What to report
All of the following must be reported to Mark Stephens or Jodie Bricout immediately:
-
Any injury or illness arising from work
-
Near-misses, situations that could have resulted in injury or illness
-
Hazardous conditions or unsafe plant or equipment
-
Any situation where a worker felt unsafe
7.2 Notifiable incidents
Certain incidents must be notified to SafeWork SA. Under the WHS Act, a notifiable incident includes the death of a worker, a serious injury or illness, or a dangerous incident. Jodie Bricout is responsible for SafeWork SA notifications. Do not disturb the scene of a notifiable incident without SafeWork SA direction, except to assist an injured person or make the area safe.
7.3 Investigation
All incidents will be investigated to understand the cause and to prevent recurrence. Investigation findings and corrective actions will be documented and followed up.
8. Workers Compensation
Adelitics is registered with ReturnToWorkSA. Any employee who sustains a work-related injury or illness is entitled to make a workers compensation claim. Notify Mark Stephens or Jodie Bricout as soon as possible after a work-related injury or illness. Adelitics will support injured employees through the return-to-work process.
9. Consultation
Adelitics will consult with employees on WHS matters that directly affect them. This includes proposed changes to work systems, new hazards identified, and the results of incident investigations. Consultation means genuinely listening to and considering the views of employees before decisions are made.
10. Drugs and Alcohol
Employees must not attend work or operate equipment while impaired by alcohol or drugs. Where client site rules impose drug and alcohol testing requirements (as SA Water's rules do), employees must comply with those requirements. A positive test result or refusal to test will be treated as a serious disciplinary matter.
11. Review
This policy will be reviewed annually and after any significant incident, or when there is a material change in Adelitics' operations. SafeWork SA guidance and relevant codes of practice will be consulted in any review.
Safe Work Method Statements for specific field activities at SA Water sites will be developed in consultation with SA Water’s safety team and issued to staff separately prior to the commencement of any relevant field work.
